WoW Rogue Glyphs

A few weeks before Wrath of the Lich King was released Blizzard introduced a new profession with patch 3.0: inscription. Scribes can produce glyphs which alter or improve the abilities of the chars by allowing them to deal more damage or slightly change some effects. With level 80 all players have 6 slots for glyphs: 3 slots for major glyphs and 3 for minor ones. Minor glyphs have no big impact and alter spells only slightly. More interesting are major glyphs. They can change a weak spell to a very useful spell. Glyphs are made of parchments which are buyable at vendors. And you need ink. Inks are made of crumbled herbs. Which ink you get depends on the level of the herbs. You get better ink the higher the herb level is. High end glyphs require herbs from the new continent Northrend.

Unlike other classes, where glyph use depends heavily on the spec of the class, rogues use the same glyphs all the time. First of all there is the glyph for slice and dice, which increases the duration of the ability by 3 seconds, so the rogue has more time until he is forced to renew it. Similarly, the glyph for rupture increases the duration by 4 seconds thus also giving the rogue more time in his rotation. For the third glyph combat rogues use the glyph of sinister strike. Since this ability is not used by mutilate rogues and HaT rogues, they rather use the glyph of vitality for an additional 10 energy. When it comes to minor glyphs rogues prefer the glyph of blurred speed and safe fall.
