WoW Rogue Armor

As light, mobile melee unit, the rogue can wear only light leather armor. Although he could also wear cloth armor, this kind of armor has no stats interesting for the rogue in any way. This means that rogues share their favorite type of armor with the druid who is looking for the same stats as the rogue for his cat form. A mixture of attack power and agility is the main focus of the rogue armor. These stats are responsible for the damage the rogue deals. Unfortunately this makes his favorite type of armor also very interesting for hunters or even warriors. That can be quite annoying for rogues.

Equally important for the rogue is the hit rating: Because of the fact that rogues use two weapons they have a high chance to miss their targets. By having enough to hit rating they can compensate for this. Very similar is the function of expertise rating which does nothing for the hit rating but reduces the enemies' chance to avoid the rogue's blows. So, essentially, this has the same benefit for the rogue.

Apart from these stats, rogue armor will have haste rating and critical strike rating, of course. Armor penetration rating is not overly important since the bleed and poison damage, which is the bigger part of the rogue's damage, are not reduced by armor anyway.

Considering all these attack stats one should not totally forget about stamina because a dead rogue does no damage at all. Armors with dodge rating are also not that important because the rogue will want to sneak up on the enemies from behind. So the need to dodge should optimally never arise.
